Here's the latest on the continuing solid state battery saga!

Donut Labs continued to release test results of their battery, but slowed way down on releasing their formerly weekly test videos. They kept stringing along (stalling) the release of any info on the energy to weight ratio, knowing that was the most requested data asked for by their followers. And they wouldn't let the test lab take it apart for an internal view.

At one point they event mentioned they were working on version 2 which had even better specs than the battery they've been submitting for testing to the so-called independent lab in Finland. So why bother releasing the lesser version 1 they've been testing all along? Sounds to me they will now have to stall the whole project until V2 is ready to go!

In the meantime, they pissed off Ricky Roy of the Two Bit da Vinci YT channel to the point he just said No Mas, I will no longer do any reviews of the Donut battery! He got tired of Donut Labs using him to string along all of us!

Donut may very well have a real solid state battery they can sell SOMEDAY, but in the meantime we can thank them for speeding up the announcement of another solid state battery a Taiwan company has been working on for several years. It works, and looks very promising, but the holdup has been in mass producing it. Looks like they might have that figured out now, and probably thanks to the publicity Donut gave Two Bit da Vinci, they chose him to publicize the release of this new battery!

Ricky Roy just released a video of his tour of the Taiwan factory where they held back nothing. The battery does use lithium, but they've figured out how to make it safe, and demonstrate everything, including to let Ricky cut the battery open, weigh it, test it, etc.
Give it a look:

It may be time, or well past time to throw out the stale box of Donuts, if the dog isn't interested in them! The first linked video has "scam" written all over Donut Labs, with a deep dive into why:

At least we'll have the solid state lithium cells from ProLogium, as mentioned in post #31, to possibly supply us with the innards for a non flaming 4Xe replacement. And CATL, as announced a month ago, is now producing Sodium cells that might work, too! We just need some innovative company to use either of these cells for a 4Xe replacement battery. The first half of the second video covers CATL sodium:
