Glad you all survived the update. Mine won't charge, won't jump, currently getting towed to the dealer. Nice software update system.....

If this is not the case; downloads completely; and then applies the update, those programmers should be fired! Downloaded file should be verified with some checksum, and battery voltage checked before applying update. Although things like that tend to only get implemented after failures happen.
The update process on these devices is a joke. If any part of the update fails, there's a good chance the radio gets bricked because it almost never can successfully revert to the previous version correctly.

Update from Dealer. they replaced the battery, and the "radio" is stuck in update mode, which is what drained the power and killed the battery in the first place. Replacement "radio" will take 5-7 days to come in. Car is dead in the water till then. Nice for a six month old vehicle..

Mine has been at the Dealership since March 17th because the OTA update bricked the radio. Still waiting for them to receive the refurbished replacement.

Pull the fuse (F97 from memory) so you can use the Jeep. Unless they gave you a loaner... personally I wouldn’t want my Jeep to sit in a dealer lot for a week, though.

Same shit here. How anyone in 2018 can write this bad code and still pass SW reviews. OTA should be disabled. Sitting in La Paz Mexio waiting as the service guys fiddle around. Who knows.

I have a 2018 JL Sahara and mine said it was ready to update. I just got home and hit the update button. Turns out I had to go somewhere like 10 mins later and the radio was in the middle of the update. I drove it and while driving it said the update errored out and it was reverting back to the original programming. It was successful and when I got home it was asking to try again. So I hit update and left it over night. The screen stayed on and by morning it was off and the update was successful. This was last week July 6.

What software version is everyone on? I’m on 20.04.19. 2020 jlur
Just ordered the new 2020 map update for my 2018 JLR, which came with a software update on USB that had to be installed before the map update- took me to version 21.04.01. It also updated the off-road pages to version 200820.0. I noted a few improvements/changes:
  • The startup splash screen now has a "Since 1941" message under the Jeep logo.
  • XM source button has a new logo.
  • When you're viewing the nav map screen, and change to something else and then back to nav, it now remembers that you were on the map. Before, it would always return to the menu screen then you had to hit "Map" to go back to the map. Nice to see an irritation fixed!
  • Navigation loads noticeably faster.
  • There's a new "Source Select" button below the XM source button that has a nice slide-out menu to pick the input- much easier than the menu hunting/button pressing you had to do before.
