The update process on these devices is a joke. If any part of the update fails, there's a good chance the radio gets bricked because it almost never can successfully revert to the previous version correctly. If this is not the case; downloads completely; and then applies the update, those programmers should be fired! Downloaded file should be verified with some checksum, and battery voltage checked before applying update. Although things like that tend to only get implemented after failures happen.
Mine has been at the Dealership since March 17th because the OTA update bricked the radio. Still waiting for them to receive the refurbished replacement.Update from Dealer. they replaced the battery, and the "radio" is stuck in update mode, which is what drained the power and killed the battery in the first place. Replacement "radio" will take 5-7 days to come in. Car is dead in the water till then. Nice for a six month old vehicle..
Pull the fuse (F97 from memory) so you can use the Jeep. Unless they gave you a loaner... personally I wouldn’t want my Jeep to sit in a dealer lot for a week, though.Update from Dealer. they replaced the battery, and the "radio" is stuck in update mode, which is what drained the power and killed the battery in the first place. Just ordered the new 2020 map update for my 2018 JLR, which came with a software update on USB that had to be installed before the map update- took me to version 21.04.01. It also updated the off-road pages to version 200820.0. I noted a few improvements/changes:What software version is everyone on? I’m on 20.04.19. 2020 jlur
