Yea, with those rollers and attaching that plastic exoskeleton, something is bound to rattle a bit. (I have dual top, so I've added/removed the soft top frame a couple times now. I'm sure that doesn't help lol)
Me too - I've pretty much given up on it. No matter what "mode" I'm in with the soft top (full up / full down / sunrider / safari) something is making noise I don't really like. It's a Jeep thing I guess...

Yep. Little wheels in the tracks have too much side-to-side play and rattle ...

As a test, I just wrapped my little wheels with black electrical tape and trimmed the tape so the wheels roll freely. The front face and the wheel surface are covered. It not only cushions the hard plastic on hard plastic sound, but it takes up some of the slop space. I'll leave it like this for a few days and see if it quiets things up. If so, I may then progress to a simple paint on rubberized coating for the wheels ....

FIXED. Honestly, I was amazed how quiet it is now.
I'll see how it wears over the next month and might just leave well enough alone. Or I could take the tape off and try a rubber paint on coating ...

Nice! I’ll try this. I, sick of dealing with the Velcro straps already!

Something that:
1) is thick enough to take up a little space
2) will remain rubbery enough not to make a banging noise inside the track
3) durable enough to handle rolling in the track every so often

OP will never get a job with FCA he is way to smart
I didn't check, but are the little wheels riveted on or do they use a real little screw? If they are screwed on, I bet we can find wheels that are just a touch wider and taller .....

i fixed it....apparently the electric tape was too large and whether it was wind coming in, or the tape rubbing against the plastic, that was the culprit of the noise. I cut it down a bit more and tightened the tape a bit

sound is back again! it's def the tape...moving around in there when the top is up, or something. Can you take a pic of your wheels?

I am on travel for a couple of days with no access to the Jeep. Perhaps someone can look at the little wheels in the track and see if they are screwed on or permanently mounted to the black bracket. We need to source slightly softer wheels that are a little wider and taller so the roll in the track without all the clanging.

My tape is still holding up and things are quiet, but I realized this was a temp solution to test the theory.
