I have experienced that in every vehicle I have ever driven - just one window cracked causes an uncomfortable "buffeting" (don't know how else to describe it) of air and sound which is relieved by cracking a second (usually opposite) window to allow some airflow. I think this is "normal".
The helicopter sound!

May be hard to tell, but places across the beams where the fabric lays on top. Took a day or so for the foam to expand

I just did it like you show. Only did it over the second crossbar as that was the loudest and I want to see if it works. Owe you a coffee if it does!

I did it over the rear 3, may be able to improve on it some but will give time. So far so good.

Went out for drive and heard it still. Realized I missed the one over the speakers so just did that and the front one. Fingers crossed. For $10 it's worth the effort. Wife was with me and asked what the issue was, didn't even notice it. It's a guy thing!

Bringing this back.
I just replaced the hard top on my 4 door with a soft top for the first time...can't open the windows without this annoying vibration/rattle. My 2 door soft top did not do this. SMH disappointing. I would consider this foam trick if it really works, but seems like mixed results?

@vaJLUR You sir deserve an award. 🏆 This bs rattle drove me crazy from those stupid fabric/beam connectors. This worked like a charm and was a super simple fix!
Totally forgot about this as I eventually just moved to a hardtop, haha.
Glad it's helping out!

Haha I read your post shortly after I switched from soft top to hard top for the fall/winter last year and made a point to bookmark it for the new year. Sooo glad I did 😁 Added the foam just as you suggested and it’s been great. If any of the other bows start to do the same I have extra foam ready
