Hey everyone.

Just put Mopar premium top on last night and today have an annoying rattle coming from the metal crossbar pieces. Anyone else have? They are the metal rods that go across the top, maybe 2 or three of them in top.

Apologies if this thread exists as I didn't find one.

Thanks in advance.

Mine do, it makes windows down at 55+ rather annoying. I intend on trying to pad the bars with foam backed weather sealer found at hardware stores, of course i've been saying this for a while now and have yet to do it, I suppose i'm not that annoyed by it? lol. Will be doing so soon though as I don't want to deal with another warmer season and either going Safari mode or AC only.

Mine has done that for 5 years if you crack a window at highway speed. No issue in safari mode or with all 4 windows down but with the latter, you wonder if those back panels are going to blow out with all the flexing from wind.

My premium soft top does this on occasion, but not because of windows down though, just over certain bumps. I THINK it's only one of them rattling. I can't figure out exactly where it's rattling, mostly because of the sunshade blocking my access to it when the top is closed.

I had some trouble closing the soft top early on in ownership and I've considered I damaged it somehow, but I've never tried to figure out the root cause of the noise. My plan is to wait until it's close to the end of the warranty and just take it in and see if I can get a new top out of it.

Mine rattles but I've gotten used to it. But expected it at the same time. Mortimer it's quiet though.

I’m not sure who this will help , but it solved one of my top rattles.
That's an interesting video but not my issue. Mine is more of the crack and window and highway speed and the trapped airflow is causing noise in the bow area since the air has nowhere to escape. If you crack the opposite side window in the back, it usually disappears since the airflow can somewhat pass through.

I will definitely check this on mine, but it's one of the cross bows rattling I'm almost 100%, so not a knock, but hey worth checking anyway.

I get a lot of rattling either at highways speeds and (worse) off road on bumps/washboards. For me, the rattle is coming from the thin flat crossbars that are sewn/glued to the top folds - and it's the two above the rollbars. I can hold the one over my head/soundbar while driving and at least that one goes away. I have been meaning to try to weatherstrip or small binder clips to stop the rattling but just never got to it.

Here is one "solution" that someone came up with using pool noodles...

Also there are lots of reports of rattling from the C-pillar plastic frame that only bolts to the roll bar above the passenger door and not to the tub rim behind the passenger door (just uses small tabs to align with the holes in the tub):

I have experienced that in every vehicle I have ever driven - just one window cracked causes an uncomfortable "buffeting" (don't know how else to describe it) of air and sound which is relieved by cracking a second (usually opposite) window to allow some airflow. I think this is "normal".

Did it work out for you? Assume you are just stuffing inside the rod pocket? Thanks for replying!
Yes, annoyed I waited so long ?
Depending on angle of wind hitting the car and speed I’ll get a slight rattle but overall it’s greatly reduced to totally eliminated. I can drive the jeep with the windows cracked or just one down and not be bothered.

So you stuffed the foam inside the channel/pocket? I'm going to go get that today.

May be hard to tell, but places across the beams where the fabric lays on top. Took a day or so for the foam to expand
