Hi every one

This is A 2018 JL 2 door sport with 3 inch left. Today I had pull my hand brake and heard a "POP". The hand break have no tension at all right now.

I am new to this, any idea what may be the broken part ? and how to solve it ?

Thank you

There is a sheathed cable that runs from the lever and comes out by a frame crossmember. Then runs down to the axle and to each rotor/drum.

Look underneath in the back first. If that’s good you’ll need to pop the console.

Won’t be a bad fix if it’s the cable.

Hopefully it just slipped off the bracket in the center console, but corrosion is always a possibility.

Here’s a crappy screengrab I still had. The 2 cables come up through the floor into the center console and connect to a bracket. One can slip out of the bracket and cause you to lose tension.

Watch the video that the person above me posted! It's a very easy fix if you follow this video. One note: there are two t-15 screws on the top inside of center console lid that he forgets to tell you to take out.
My right-side cable slipped out of the housing twice since I have owned it. Bought a $2.99 deep 10mm socket. from Harbor Freight. It took me 45 minutes to fix it the first time, and 30 minutes the second time (I didn't tighten the nut enough the first time). Most of the time is getting the bolts out of the console. Loosening the nut, re-seating the cable, and tightening the nut takes only a minute). Take a lesson from my experience and error towards over-tightening!

What fun is it if you don’t have to do a little searching. That way you can tell your wife, “I found the answer on YouTube” not the forum she always bitches about you being on.

OK. This is an update

Spent the past 2 months without a break, everyday saying I will do it tomorrow ?

Anyway, I just attached it today, the procedure took no more than 30 minutes following the video instructions

Both cable were deattached. Wasn't able to attach it initially, so I needed to loosen the screw (about 4-5 full turns)

Everything is going fine now
