Thank you all for your responses! So I found a lady 20 minutes from me selling her JL factory soft-top for $500 bucks. Apparently she got a new Jeep with the Sunrider top.
She had me put the top on my Jeep and test it at her house before I paid her. It was an extra hour to take hard-top off...
Yes, both locks are in the "unlocked" position. I even locked/unlocked a few times. The side that is stuck is the side that I replaced the 5th arm. Stuck for both the old and new 5th arm which makes me think its something else like one of these small pistons on the metal housing.
Very...
Hi everyone, looking for some help. Have a 2018 JLUR. Soft-top stopped folding down last summer, so I tried to force it to fold down. Obviously this was stupid and ending up breaking the 5th arm. So I replaced the 5th arm myself, got the part from Quadratec, but the soft-top still won't...

Thanks. I actually drive reasonably careful. I notice the rear end sliding out often in the rain, especially when going downhill. Was wondering if 4Hi is better but it seems to invite other issues. I'll just go a little slower from now on.
They are Nitto Ridge Grapplers with probably 80%of the tread left. I think it's plenty of tread depth to channel the water from the rain. I really drive somewhat carefully. I notice the sliding the most from the rear end coming downhill in the rain
Sort of related to this thread: does anyone drive 4H in just plain-old rain on pavement? My Jeep is all over the place in the rain in 2H especially if traveling downhill
So I always switch my tops on Father's Day due to work schedule. This year, I did the same. Took the hard top off, put all the brackets back on for soft top, and put soft top on, all good...same as the previous 4 summers. Well this time, the top wouldn't extend or collapse properly. I checked...
Mines a daily driver. 4.5 years so far! Only complaint as a DD is it is not safe in the rain, especially downhill on a curve. This has been an issue with both sizes and widths of tires that I've had on it. I don't put the Jeep in 4hi in rain, does anyone else?
I actually have the opposite...
This was at a cemetery, during the walk from the funeral procession to the gravesite, BY THE DECEASED'S SON: "Nice Jeep...so is this like your midlife crisis or something?"
I'd buy another JL right now if the 392 came in a stick (BTW I know there is zero chance of that happening since the Manual transmission they have now can barely handle a V6).
At this point I'm trying to see if I can stomach the payment on a Silverado or comparable 1/2 ton and still be able to...
Some summers I have the front doors off for 10 straight weeks. Some summers I don't take them off at all. My main reason not to take the doors off is fear of side-impact. People are just terrible drivers.
I think we are all just getting old. Every time I drive my wife's car (Automatic Transmission), I slam my left foot down on any sudden/defensive braking. I also sometimes get out of her car, when I've left it still in "drive," etc.
Then, if we take her car on vacation for a week or so: the...
Probably would say 4Runner. Not sure if they are still body on frame anymore. I do know for sure that they don't use the Taco frame anymore so it may be a smoother ride than it used to be
I made a small modification of 35 inch tires and negative offset wheels to get that aggressive tire poke look that I think looks so great on Wranglers. In my opinion, this minor change has made my Jeep go from "pretty cool" to an absolute head-turner . People talk to me about it pretty much...
