Small tear in premium soft top

I have a 2019 JLU with the premium soft top. I discovered a small tear, smaller than a dime, on the right front edge of the softtop where it meets the top of the windshield on the passenger side. I can see a small bit of the plastic under the tear (because it's right at the edge), so no water is penetrating and it's not visible from inside above the passenger sun visor.

I have no idea how it happened. The location is strange and nothing fell on it as far as I know.

The tear in itself doesn't bother me, but I am worried it will expand and continue to tear over time. Any one have any repair ideas or suggestions to keep the tear at-bay? TIA

I've used this adhesive fabric, cut to size, to cover up two wear points on my soft top. The wear occurs over time when driving with the top lowered, where the frame rubs on the folded fabric.
