What are you thoughts and experience the sky touch has removable rear windows and with the top back it’s pretty sweet. But the price is 4200. The premium soft top is nice had one through a winter. Much less expensive. But since I am stones throw from 70. Wife says. This is the last new Jeep so I am thinking about going all in. What are your thoughts sold that to buy the gladiator now I miss the open top

I just got back into a Jeep after an 11 year hiatus and have a SOT. With my old Jeep, it went through a lot of mud, rocks and branches. I don’t know if I’d feel as comfortable with the SOT doing any deep forest trails or slinging mud potentially in the SOT tracks. So I guess it kind of depends on what you’re going to use yours for. Light trails? I say go SOT. Hardcore off-road and slinging mud everywhere? Go back to the jlu rubicon . That said, that gladiator looks amazing.

Mine is used for moderate off-roading and I’ve had no issues with mud, rocks, branches, or debris affecting the top. I am fairly meticulous about cleaning it afterwards to include the top and tracks.

I love the SOT and probably wouldn’t buy a jeep without one. Allows you a lot more freedom when you’re driving in ever changing weather conditions.

I just traded my 2021 Rubicon w/ SOT for a 2023 392 w hard top. I loved the convenience of hitting a button and opening the top; however, I prefer the fully topless look. While you can remove the rear side windows, you can't remove the rear glass (at least not easily), and I don't like the look with w/the rear glass in place. It just comes down to personal preference on that. One other thing to consider is if you ever want to run a roof rack. As far as I know, there is only 1 roof rack that will accommodate it, and I don't like that particular one. Just something else to consider and research before you go ahead an order.

With regards to off-roading, mud, etc. I never had any issues with my top at all. In fact, I can honestly tell you that I ran it through car washes, off-roaded with it, and never had a leak or any issues at all. They did do some really well-thought-out engineering on that top, IMHO.

I love the SOT! It's amazing! Need a bit of fresh air, hit the button. Rain coming, hit the button. And as long as you are under 60mph, you dont even have to stop. On the trail and about to knowingly throw mud and water everywhere, hit the button. I don't think I'd go without one now.

Thanks I am torn I like the top down look but the conveince is really compelling. What is the roof rack that works with it ? And will something like aGobi rack also fit I have an rtt I would like to occasionally mount?

Do you want a two-row fabric sunroof, or a manual convertible top? Both are four figure options, with one being demonstrably less costly. That's about it.

To me, SOT is a compromise - the full open air experience is great in theory but hardly an option for me in the real life: I don’t have a garage and I’m living in Georgia where there are storms every other afternoon in summer - so the soft top would be up 99% of the time. The SOT is not that open and I agree it looks a bit weird with the side windows removed - but with SOT you can enjoy the sun at the push of a button, so you end up driving with the open top quite often, even for short rides. BTW, SOT is expensive on a Sahara or a Rubicon, but on a Sport S or a Willis, for the same price you also get the 8.4 display and the SAT NAV.

It's a wonderful top. I go out jeeping and open and close the top many times. You know how great it is to open the top with one button in between raining periods, or during a light rain, not being afraid I'd get drenched. It's really great. And that top is made with really great tough fabric. It is really a must have - if you can afford it. I love it.
