Skill testing question Engine or motor?

There is a definition of what the distinction is between a motor and an engine, but I always thought it was a silly distinction and somewhat splitting hairs. With respect to internal combustion engines in vehicles, both definitions are used. With respect to rotating electric things it seems to be mostly motor.
Of course the important question is- what powers your motorcar?
