Hey all, I am going to be heading overseas here soon and was just wondering how to take care of the Jeep while gone. I don't have anyone to drive it while there, so I plan on putting it into "storage" mode for insurance. I'll be gone roughly a year.

I am running 35s, should I over inflate to help combat any flat spots?
Invest in a battery tender?
What about fuel additive for sitting?

The last time I was gone it was only for 6 months and it was a VW. I got home, checked everything, started it and drove away. I appreciate any input provided.

You have it pretty much covered. Definitely fill the gas tank and add Stabil fuel stabilizer. Change the oil. Get a very good battery conditioner instead of a battery tender. The Noco Genius battery maintainers are excellent. Some people will put the vehicle up on blocks or jack stands. Others over inflate tires and park on thick rubber pads to prevent flat spots. I'd also stick some steel wool in the muffler pipe and spread a bunch of moth balls around to prevent critters from moving in or chewing up things. Put mothballs under the hood also. A car cover is nice also. A year is a long time. A reminder to remove the steel wool and moth balls, disconnect battery charger, etc is a good idea. I usually leave a note on the driver's seat.

I had my VW up on stands, I didn't want to go through that with this one. Rubber pads is a good idea too though, along with the steel wool and moth balls. It'll be parked at my moms house up in MD and there are some annoying critters up there.

I could tell you, but then....

I have a 2018 JLR and just returned from 14 months overseas. I did a nitrogen fill at 44 psi, had it parked on rubber gym mats, added fuel stabilizer, and had it on a battery tender. Zero issues upon my return.
