SERV 4WD - transfer case motor

I have had the yellow service 4wd message intermittently since October 2023 while off-roading in 4wd Low. Comes on then goes off after restart and has never affected performance. The dealer has checked it twice to date and found no issues. 2 weeks ago wheeling Colorado it came on every day, stayed on after restarts but went off overnight. This weekend wheeling KS Rocks park it came on and the lockers would not turn on claiming not in 4wd. Front end would not drive and therefore drove off trail in rwd only.

Dealer diagnosed yesterday transfer case motor needs replaced. 3-5 days for parts.

I assume this is different than the clutch packs going out? Anything else I need to check?

I’d look into this TSB and check the connector before replacing the transfer case motor. I had the same issue and this resolved it.

Thank you 58 I will check that also. I should have listed 2023 392, 3” lift, 37” tires with 15k miles and the repair is under warranty.

Lots of off-road miles I should have tracked that. Moab, Alpine loop, holy cross, SMORR, hot springs, Palo Duro, Ozark, KS Rocks, etc., etc.

Sounds like the actuator.
