I replaced my front dash speakers with the Infinities and had no issues whatsoever when I installed the pods and Kickers. I'm sure you paid attention to the polarity of the speaker wires as that may possibly be the only thing to check. I know that the speaker adapter cables I bought for the dash speakers were wired backwards and I had to de-pin the connectors and swap the wires first.
Thanks Lou . . . .weird as it sounds, I traced it back to the TA speaker install. I was removing the speaker for inspection, and as soon as I started loosening the first screw, the speaker cleared up. I loosened both screws and retightened, and now the speaker is fine. I’m a bit perplexed, but guessing vibration was the culprit(?). Just installed the TA’s a few days before the sound bar speakers, so it’s possible the issue wasn’t noticeable at lower volume levels. Also proof not to start projects after midnight ?.

Glad you fixed it! Problems like that can be a b!tch to track down!

Looking at this (with Kicker speakers) to replace my base (non-Alpine) system.

Anyone use the JLJT-Pods with Kickers in soundbar, and replace dash with the Kicker 47KSC3504 speakers? Thoughts on it as a good & easy DIY option that isn’t too bright but adds volume?

I’m hoping the added clarity plus the increased woofer size in soundbar equalize the highs and mids for overall increase - wasn’t sure if it was going to make the bottom end fall out overall since no real bass increase (don’t wanna add sub or amp, or tear dash out to get to lower front pods).

i wanted to keep my entire set up with Alpine brand since i already have the Alpine woofer in the rear from the factory.
I just did the same upgrade with the Alpine S series. Much clearer to the ears. OEM speakers don't have any branding on them, and I think they are just plain Mopar ones and not Alpines.

As suggested in the JL/JT instructions, I did not remove the port tube. I am satisfied even without removing those.

Do the pods come with the cross over that the actual KICKER 46CSS654 come with are just the woofer and tweeter and metra connectors?

I believe the Kicker speakers include the crossovers but they are not needed.

right cause the assumption is that the smaller speaker channel on the alpine amp is already crossed.. Just curious. Not sure that a tweeter can go as low as a 3.5 but I suppose someone would have reported issues otherwise.

Question: What seatcovers are you using? Do you like them? Easy to install? Easy to remove and clean, etc.
They are the Chris Kyle Krytek seat covers from Amazon. I liked them because of the design (Punisher flag logo) and they match the steering wheel cover. They are not great fit but cheap and protect the seat well. They are just not snug like the neoprene style.

I've actually never removed them. I just wipe them down.
