I just installed a brand new Warn Evo 10S and when I spoiled it all the way out to pretension the rope I noticed some scrapes or gouges on the drum. Is this normal, or should I be concerned they might damage my synthetic rope?

Looks like someone spooled steel cables on your synthetic drum and tensioned it pretty hard.

Can’t say if that will damage the synthetic cables though

Hard to say but, while it is accessible smooth it out with some steel wool or something similar.

This picture is from two nights ago, so it’s spooled back in now. I’m going to contact Warn on Monday and see what they say.

you want to knock down any sharp or hard edges that could cause the line to fray over time
