Sahara 4WD options

Ok, I'll be the first to admit, I'm a noobie when it comes to 4WD vehicles. I'm trying to learn however, and that includes reading and doing research to better educate myself.

From my limited understanding, only Rubicons come with Rock Trac. That's all fine and good.

From there, I understand that leaves us two options: command trac and selec track. This is where my head starts to spin:

Why is it discussed on here that a Sahara gets one of these as an option? Which does it come standard with? When I placed a factory order for my sahara I was not offered either of these as an option? Should I have been given a choice? How or why would I choose one over the other?

Then we move on to an option I was given, which further obscures things for me: trac lock limited slip differential... lol.

I see some people on here say (that drive in similar heavy snowy / icy conditions that I do) that they opted for this. I didn't know this at the time of order, should I have purchased this option?

Any insight or knowledge that someone would be willing to break down for a clueless donkey like myself would be much appreciated.

Trac Loc is the limited slip differential and it's good to get if you have the option.

The two do different things. Selec Trac (kind of AWD) is much more useful for slippery roads than Trac Loc in 2H.

Thank you for the info - looking at my build sheet I see neither of those (selec trac or command trac) and neither of those choices were tabled to me.

As mentioned in my OP, I did have the option for the LSD trac lock, but at the time I didn't know what it is... still kinda don't, but I am reading up on it now.

Does it matter that my vehicle is a manual transmission?

Select Trac is only for auto afaik.

With Trac Loc (LSD), if a rear wheel starts slipping, it gets locked so it turns with the other rear wheel (on the same axle). But you don't get power to the front wheels so it isn't as good as Selec Trac.

With Selec Trac in 4H Auto, if the rear slips, you also get power to the front wheels. It's very good when driving in the rain because you can get the power down without much wheelspin (depends on how slippery) especially at lights, etc. So it's safer.

If I look at the Jeep.ca vehicle builder, command-trac or selec-trac don't even show up as an option there in the build. If you look at their 4x4 systems page however, it shows this:

So not being told anything otherwise by the dealer or on my build sheet, am I to assume the Wrangler Unlimited Sahara comes with command-trac, or selec-trac?

Edit: it appears from some more reading that command-trac comes standard on Wrangler Sport or Sahara.

I dug a bit more and found out why I was never given the option - as soon as you choose a manual transmission any choices in this regard simply do not exist, that's why I never knew of them.
