Safari Rack for soft top JLU?

Hey all,

Hoping that someone can help narrow down my search..

I have a JLUwith a hard top (buying a soft top this spring) and want to maximize storage by adding my Thule box for trips. The dilemma, of course, is being able to (relatively) easily lower my soft top while having a safari rack AND it having bars in suitable locations for the Thule as well as front/rear clearance for the box.

The ARS (Adventure Rack Systems) setup is incredible, but it looks like I’d have to partially dismantle it just to lower my soft top. I’ve heard very mixed reviews about the Gobi AND Smittybilt.

Anyone help out on this?

We have the ARS system in my wife’s Wrangler. Incredibly sturdy system. Hers is a hard too however.

My only two concerns are the $$$ and I’ve seen marks on soft tops from the rack. But it’s an AWESOME rig!
