2016 Jeep Unlimited Sport
I bought my wife a 2016 wrangler for Christmas. It’s the sport unlimited. It has a lift on it but I’m not sure how much along with 35 inch tires. The stock runningboards on it are pretty much worthless since they sit about an inch below the door jamb threshold. I’m not worried about off-road clearance because the most off roading it will do will be on the beach. Is there a way to get extension brackets to lower the factory runningboards? If that’s not an option, anyone have any suggestions on lower running boards? I have seen ones that has a step for the front and the back doors, but she wants one along the design of the factory one that is one continuous step. Sorry if this is a stupid question. This is the first wrangler I’ve ever had to deal with. Thanks for any help you guys can do.

Hi Jay. Congrats on the new Jeep. As a 2016, that is a JK wrangler and you may have better luck on the other forum.

Just shop around on sites like Quadratec, Northridge, extremeterrain, etc. Find something you like and go for it.

You won’t find anything like the OEM steps, and trying to lower them isn’t a very good idea, given they mount on the pinch seam.
