I purchased some RockTrix wheels for my Jeep and upon unpacking I was immediately turned off by the center caps that were included. I did not like the logo they used and I did not like the silver. My wheels are all black and the silver in the center cap just threw the look off.

After searching the world for other center cap options that would fit the bore diameter of the RockTrix wheel I realized none existed. RockTrix doesn't even offer any additional options. I could probably tolerate the RockTrix logo if they would offer some type of black on black option.

I decided to make my own center caps by taking the RockTrix caps and modifying them. I wanted some caps that said "Jeep" that were all black. Some factory Jeep wheels use a 64mm black center cap and after some measuring I decided they would work great on the RockTrix cap. The end result was a clean all black factory look.

Here is the link to the Jeep center caps I purchased. They are not Mopar caps but cost 1/4 the cost and worked perfectly - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09V2JN7VQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here is a POV video I made of the entire step by step process -

Nice job! Those look factory now.

Now tell me about those brakes, damn those look pretty sweet! Got a link for your DIY on those by chance?

I like some of their wheels, but I’m with you. I don’t like the logo and the name of the company sounds cheesy. Great result you got there.

Thanks I appreciate it!

As for my brakes, I installed Baer brakes on the front and rear. And it's funny you mention a DIY video on those because I am in the process of finding motivation to finish that video. Once it's done I'll post a link.

I installed the Baer 13.5" Pro kit on the front, found here - https://baer.com/13.5-Front-Pro-Brake-System-4401005.html

I installed the Baer 13" SS4 kit on the rear, found here - https://baer.com/13-Rear-SS4-Brake-System-4402007.html

I had Baer powder coat the front and rear calipers in "Aztec Gold". I'm not into flashy colors but still wanted something that stood out from the crowd.

I've read a lot of mixed opinions about Baer brakes as for mine I've been very happy with them. But I do think the performance is based on the use. I happen to use my jeep at higher speeds and don't do much crawling so for me they stop great when they get a little heat in them. My Jeep is supercharged so I like to go fast and stop fast. But I've read others complain that they don't perform when crawling and trying to stop on obstacles. Based on my experience when they're cold they don't stick. So I don't think they're the best choice for technical driving.

Thanks for that, and for your honest opinion on the performance.
Now we need some feedback on the supercharger, do tell :)

Nice looking wheels! Never heard of them, but they actually have a lot styles I like. Have to agree that the center cap needed to go... nothing worse than a giant logo that just screams aftermarket! That's my problem with most aftermarket add-ons is their insistence on a prominent logo and usually one that is not very well designed. You solved this problem nicely!

Looks good OP! Heres the decal I made for mine a few years back (on a red jeep).

That turned out perfect. I would have went the decal route but couldn't get the black on black look I wanted worked out.

Just purchased some Rocktrix 115's for my ride and on an internet search to replace the center caps as I am also not a fan, I came across your mod. So. Freaking. Perfect. Unfortunately a bit above my skill set. Any chance you would make and sell a set?!

I spent hours searching for a replacement set of caps with a lower profile but had no luck. I reached out to Rocktrix and they said they're looking at making some, but had no info on a timeframe.

My solution was to remove the stock decals/emblems they put on and replace them with a set of 68mm domed emblems from a seller on Etsy. Cost was about $28 shipped from overseas. I was going to provide the link to them but the storefront is no longer active so I can't. There are plenty of others making similar emblems though and 68mm is a perfect fit for the depression in the top of the cap.

Getting the original emblems off isn't too hard, but don't try to pry from the edge as you'll ding up the plastic very quickly! I poked a hole in the center (the plastic cap has a hole in it) of the emblem and used a small pair of needle-nose pliers to grab the emblem and tear it off using a twisting motion. Once that's done, use your thumb to roll off any of the remaining adhesive, then clean it up with alcohol before sticking on the new emblem.

The pic looks slightly purple but these actually match Sting Gray very well!

Dan, I followed your lead and ordered metal-backed overlays from Etsy, (LogoCarHouse) and went back and forth with a few designs and wound up with these. I'm very happy with the results.
