Anyone running this setup? Ive heard Fox shocks work better with linear springs over the RK triple rate springs.

I was leaning towards the RK RRD 2.25 Stage One shocks but have heard they tend to leak and require frequent rebuilds.

Im going with a 2.5" x-factor and was going to go with the Fox 2.0 shocks in the 2"-3" range. However, I might want to upgrade to 3.5" down the road. I know that would require new springs, but if I went with longer shocks now (3"-4"), will that impact the performance at 2.5" lift height?

Yes it will affect the performance if you put a longer than needed shock on the Jeep. You will lose about an inch of up travel. Although that does not seem like a lot, it is. Not sure if you are looking at Fox 2.0 IFP or Remote Reservoirs. Remote reservoir shocks will last longer and require less maintenance.

2.0 IFP 2-3”
Product Compressed Length: 16.75
Product Extended Length: 26.35
Product Travel: 9.60

2.0 IFP 3.5-4”
Product Compressed Length: 17.85
Product Extended Length: 28.45
Product Travel: 10.60

--------

Fox 2.0 RR 2-3”
Product Compressed Length: 16.45
Product Extended Length: 26.45"
Product Travel: 10.00

Fox 2.0 RR 3.5-4”
Product Compressed Length: 17.45
Product Extended Length: 28.45"
Product Travel: 11.00

I went with the fox 2.0s and longer shocks. Haven't gone offroading yet but on road it feels great and handling is awesome. Enjoying them a lot so far. I will probably go offroading in a few days.

ok then. Thank you for that well-informed reply.
Sorry..... here’s the caffeine induced answer, lol......my answer is based on a few things.

@AccuTunedJL , is technically correct as always . But here’s my opinion......

Your post you said you were going from 2-3” to 3-4”, so that would mean you’ll loose about a 1/2” of up travel, but looking at the specs, it’ll be closer to an inch. Based on your location I assumed you wasn’t going to be bombing through the desert where more up travel is optimal. Ideally in a perfect world you’d like to stay in the middle of the stroke. But for highway driving and normal off-roading, climbing, crawling, off camber stuff, you’ll be fine with a little less up travel, imho.

Im running 4.5-6” lift fox resis with RK 3.5” springs, and I have almost 5” of up travel. That’s not great, but for what we do, droop is more important........
