Hi all, I'm slowly learning and getting to know my JL.

I now have some movement in my front drag link and I also have a dent in my steering stabiliser.

Should I bother trying to get the drag link replaced under warranty? I think it would be a struggle with the 2.5" lift installed and I guess it will start to fail pretty quickly again anyway?

If warranty would be a waste of time can anyone recommend a RHD drag link that's good value?

And is the steering stabiliser RHD / LHD specific? Or can I order these off Amazon? I saw a rough country one on Amazon for $120 but I'm not sure if it will fit.

Also when I look at the Old Man Emu stabiliser (I saw for $222) it says it needs a relocation kit. But it doesn't say why. Does anyone know if they all need the relocation kit or just the OME one?

Cheers!

Haven’t had issues with my factory drag link. I have had the AEV dual sport lift for over 2 years now. So I am not sure if it will be a recurring issue or just one-off unlucky. Is it causing steering issues though or just a slight play?

The steering stabiliser relocation is pretty good and necessary for the RHD JL. The RHD factory steering stabiliser location is really low as it mounts onto the axle and the flagged nut is lower than the front diff. Since you have a dent in your stabiliser suggests you probably should relocate it. I got mine relocated with the Teraflex kit and stabiliser.

The relocation kit shouldn’t be LHD or RHD specific; it’s just a clamp that mounts onto the tie rod. The aftermarket stabilisers might be not compatible with RHD vehicles though, especially if they are larger and wider in diameter than the factory one. I think it’s probably because they weren’t designed for the RHD axle mounting point and also might not have enough room because of the diff. Just my guess though. Even though OME is an Australian company, it makes sense for them to design parts primarily for the much more profitable LHD market.

Oh right. I assumed that it would be related. The issue is just a slight play, I took it into a Jeep shop in Coffs (Jeeps are us) and said that I felt something loose underneath. He quickly found the problem and showed me that when turning the wheel back and forth (rapidly), there was a small amount of play in it.

Do you drive yours pretty hard? I've been flexing mine a lot off-road on rocks etc. Maybe stretching it out is related? Though it might have been like that when I bought it, I'm not too sure. Hearing you say this I think I'll try for the warranty on this one at next service.

I think dragline is RHD specific. Mine one is damaged, I was told there is no stock in Australia, so have it ordered from US via dealer.

steering stabliser is not RHD specific. Like Kieseki mentioned, I believe relocation is a good idea.
I went with FOX TS. Ordered it from US. bigger stabiliser such as fox ATS may have rubbing issue. Our RHD has a tight space there..
