When my 392 was stock, and even after I put on 35's, I would hammer down pretty full throttle off a red-light, off-road + mode. Just too fun not to do. Now I am lifted MC 3.5, geared 4.88, and my 38x12.50 nitto ridge and wheels are right at 100lbs per. I have front RCV axle shafts, rear axle shafts are stock, and Tom Woods drive shafts. I'll be changing the diff fluid here shortly, as I'm right about 1000 miles since gearing.
I've taken care to break the gearing-in somewhat properly. Now that I'm beyond that...do I hammer down? Am I going to grenade my gears? I keep in mind that power is sent to both front and rear, which would seemingly be a factor for stress on the drive train - ie less than if power were all sent rear. Do I hammer down, or am I asking for trouble? I know there's only one way to find out...but curious what others have experienced.
