I have the Rhino backbone system. A few weeks ago I installed the HD bars, which have a rubber insert in the tracks of the bars. When I got home from the store I realized the rubber inserts were not secured. They just slide in the tracks, and easily slide over the end cap thresholds. If I had driven another 10 miles two of the three would have been lying in the road somewhere. Anybody know what they are for or how they are supposed to be secured? (I got the parts without instructions, and couldn’t find an answer on the internet.)

There to just keep crud out. One could cut them custom once you mount something in the track. Id just put a drop of glue here and there to hold in place. I've never had much luck with those types of strips. Heat has its way and one day they are just gone... Or just ditch them.

Yup! Those are the ones. It hadn't occurred to me that heat was the culprit, but it makes perfect sense. Thank you!
