My wife has a 2022 JLU Sport S with the 7” Uconnect. Her camera lens was broken and I replaced the camera with an official Mopar unit (same PN) and now the backup grid lines are gone. We checked the settings and they are turned on. Tried turning them off and on and also tried a factory reset of the radio. Help.

The rear camera has a lin bus wire that is responsible for the grid lines. I know about this since I wired one incorrectly before resulting in a functional camera but missing grid lines. This might sound wild but the camera gets the steering angle from the radio on that lin bus wire, applies the correct lines to the image, then feeds that image back to the radio to display. It isn't an overlay from the radio itself like you might think.

A high quality scan tool would show if the radio is throwing a DTC for this circuit. Might be worth looking into. It's possible the pin got pushed out or something during your camera swap.

Only one pin in the camera connection…we didn’t touch anything else…It was just the one clip for the camera module in the tire carrier that was replaced. If that one pin bent I don’t think the camera would even work.
