Heeeeelp ?
I have a 2018 Jeep JL, I have a factory remote start. I went to start my Jeep this morning and it didn't start. I checked it out and it gave me the message remote start canceled door open. No door is open (there is no indicator light on my dash saying a door is open) after trouble shooting a bit, I realized my rear passenger door sensor must not be working, since when I opened it did not say so on the dash and all the other doors indicated open on the dash when they were open.
I have connected and reconnected the door plug. Nothing looks bent inside. I have never taken my doors off. The lock unlock works on the door. I am at a loss.

Glad we could help! ??

I would’ve just suggested removing the doors altogether, and leaving them off. Your fix was better!

It ended up being a wire to the wire assembly snapped. I found out when I took the door panel off. Luckily I just added more wired and fixed the break.

Which wire was it or do you have any pics? I'm having a similar issue.

This seems to be a common issue at this point.

Having same issue but can’t find the culprit!!
I have you learned what door it is yet? Thats the easy part, I found the door by opening each door and seeing if the interior lights came on. Found one door that didnt turn on the light. but locks worked and window went down. It did through a door ajar warning either.

ah ha! I noticed door ajar light wasn’t coming on for passenger side door. Reconnected the electrical connection and it came on. Must not have been fully seated rendering the remote start useless!

All fixed! Thx so much!

Hi All, I just joined the wrangler forum to help on this thread as my wife has the jeep. I'm sure there's a few threads on this issue but I tracked this one down trying to fix my wife's 2019 JLU. Her remote start wouldn't work saying a door is open. I tracked it down using the dome light method to see which door doesn't activate the light when opened. I narrowed it down to the driver's rear door harness, unraveled the tape and pulled the wire loom (?) material back and found the the thin purple wire was completely cut and the the orange/white wire was crimped in two places. I repaired both wires and everything works. I blame it on the kids kicking the harness or just a bad location. Hope that helps anyone else. I soldered the wires back together to ensure a good connection.

Same problem here as others have listed! Found mine to be the drivers passenger door, with the purple wire split in half. Keep in mind I've never taken my doors off, but I do also have young kids...

I removed the door panel, pulled the black harness back, fixed the cable, and all was good again. Also, give the car a good 5-10 seconds to see the door come up on the dash once you turn the car on.
