took off my doors yesterday. After removing the bolt for the door, the door swung almost closed, and in the process the check was pushed into the door. It now will only come out about an inch, not far enough to replace the bolt. I've checked the manual this forum and you tube with no results. Any idea how to get it to come out of the door?

Common problem. There are a few threads on this. I believe some purchase a longer check strap bolt, mount the door and use the longer bolt to draw out the check strap. Sorry don’t know what size bolt you need.

"What you can do (one of a few ways) is take the a much longer bolt and use it in place of your short check strap bolt. The longer bolt will allow you to reach to...to fasten up to the check strap and pull it out of the cavity further. After it is out, remove your long bolt and then use the short bolt to secure the check strap properly. So, guess you will be going to the hardware store. You will be careful next time not to let the check strap go into the cavity."

Put door on side and take a screwdriver that will fit. Grab both ends and it will pull right out.
