This is absolutely something that the aftermarket will take care of. JPP will be offering paintable panels as well as stock in very short order. There are too many people concerned/complaining about the Rubi dash for this to go unaddressed. Your idea of the black pleather (it's not real leather in the Sahara) with the red stitching is an excellent one, as it would match the seats and locker panel without being in your face so much. I hope someone is listening...
What is JPP?

Thought I would share my mod to the dash. I did not want the red dash, so the dealer worked with me on getting it painted. Picked the Jeep up Friday. Hard to tell in the picture but it’s painted the same as the outside, graphite. Thrilled with how it came out.

Did they disassemble the dash to paint it or tape & paper everything?

Great mod. I have a StingGray JLUR inbound and this will be one of my first mods.

Any updates on aftermarket support for these red panels? Options?
You sir, are nuts. That red dash looks the absolute best with Sting-Gray (and maybe Granite). But, if you must, there have been many around the forum who went to a local mod shop and had them wrapped, and the options are endless. Just search around the mods pages. As far a aftermarket options, they're definitely in the pipeline, but more limited than a wrap (when they get here). You also might want to try a swap with another member who has the silver or black panel and has the great good taste to desire the red.;)

Yes. Yes I am.

You’re right, it’s not bad. But. It’s an easy mod and “low hanging fruit” as far as personalization goes. I think it would look really cool painted Destroyer Gray...

^ This. *Love* the dash in my Granite JL.

Anyway, go with vinyl. When you realize your mistake, it just peels off. :cwl:

There’s two more screws holding the airbag. They are located on the bottom by the glove box.

Do you have to pull the entire airbag assembly to take that dash panel off? What about the driver's side, where are the bottom screws for that? Thanks!

I have been in a Rubicon that had the tan leather seats. The dark grayish dash looked much better and fit the overall aesthetic of the design more.
That's what I got. White JLUR with tan leather and grey dash. I could not stand the red in any color combination.

@Eds's Did you have to pull the airbag out? What is that zip tie looking thing on the small plastic trim under the dash?

Did you pull the dash panels off or wrap them in place? How did you get the air vents out? Lastly, do you have to pull the airbag out to get the panels off? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you Sir!!
