Hey all, just thought I’d share some pics of my Rebel Off Road Blackout window panel install. Got the hardtop windows removed by a glass shop. I thought about trying it myself but it was $90 to have it done.

Shipping was quick to Canada, and it was packed really well. Install was straight forward, instructions were very clear. Parts could have been labeled tho but wasn’t too hard to figure out what went were. I chose not to go with the optional lights, and installed the blank off panels. I was surprised there were no gaskets for these little panels, I used a peel and stick 1/8” foam rubber from Amazon.

i think it looks great, and having spare fuel is always handy. I was using a Steel NATO can but cargo space is near and dear when we travel. Anyhow, was a fun little afternoon project.

Nice. Just thinking, has anyone tried putting a hinge on those side panels and using them as hatches?

I thought of that, but the quarter windows are curved and so is the hardtop openings for them. The alum panels bend into shape as you tighten them down. Pretty sure hinges wouldn’t work.

I'm considering this option, maybe just 1 side.
I ordered a ratchet strap that mounts 2 rotopax on the spare.
I have to get the yellow rotopax too, but was thinking of using red so if someone steals it, they'll be putting diesel into their rig haha!

I got knock off rotopax locking mounts on Amazon pretty cheap and I honestly can’t see any difference, the look, feel, and work just the same. I used some anti-seize on the threaded bit and sprayed the locks with Krown for the winter season.
