Good Morning! Yesterday I visited my dealership to get the RIGHT side wiring connector reattached to the glass. I was told that it was replaced with epoxy. The work order says he replaced the glass button with part No. 68428688AA. I think he replaced the left side connector because there is no evidence the right side connector was ever touched; it’s still hanging there disconnected, no evidence of epoxy residue. I will return soon it get it fixed….warranty. I am asking if anyone can send me a photo of the GLASS BUTTON PART NO. 68428688AA. The Mopar site doesn’t show a photo. If you have a photo of this part please email me at [email protected]. Thanks! Joe.

I just fixed this this weekend, was worried about how to do it, looking for the epoxy, shattering the glass with heat, etc.

Ended up getting out my 40 watt Weller soldering iron, prying the button out of the connector and pressing it against the glass with the tip of the soldering iron and pulling the trigger and watching for the solder to melt. As soon as it melted I released the trigger and held pressure on it till the solder cooled. Reattached the connector and done. Took longer to get the tools out than the actual fix.

I’ll report back if it doesn’t hold up.

I am thinking of giving the DIY method a try. I took mine in to the dealer to have it repaired using the Jeep recommended repair kit. The "fix" lasted less than 24 hours before the wire was dangling again and no longer covered under warranty.
