One of the reflectors on my rear bumper broke, so I got some lights to replace them for now.. They came with t-splice/vampire splice clips, and no instructions, except a color guide for the wires. (negative, fog light, reverse light, turn signal)

I've watched video installs on similar items. But, before I start taking things apart ....

- Should I remove the bumper for the install? The bolts for the reflectors seem awkward to access, but removing the whole bumper seems like probable overkill.

- Where will the "fog light" wire connect? (I do not have a tow kit) I think I can figure out the rest of them

- Will using the included wire taps make uninstalling these and later installing a new bumper with lights stupidly difficult?

(I still have my plastic stock bumper because I am waiting to go off roading at least once before choosing a better one.)

Thanks!

Taking the bumper off or removing the muffler will make it MUCH easier. I installed my lights while I had the bumper off for another project and it was very easy. The wire taps are not great but easy enough to remove if you decide on a bumper later. Watch the Oracle install video to determine which wire to tap.

Assuming these are the Oracles?
When I installed mine I removed the bumper (also plastic)
Wired them to an aux switch rather than alway with reverse.

Mine are just a cheap random brand. Worst case scenario, I pop them in and zip tie the wires out of the way without connecting -- At least I won't have a cracked reflector anymore 😂

I use the Aux switch and the reverse lights (added a couple diodes in the y-cable I made up, this way you can put them on while in park and automatically when in reverse and it will not cause any issues)

I have the lights from Oracle and I found that they offer a harness that connects to the plugs in the one of the taillights so it’s all plug and play and it is easier to remove the rear bumper to access the screws to install the new lights
