So I've been researching break in procedures for new gears, and what I can't figure out is how to properly break in the front differential gears on street driving. Unlike the rear, the front diff gears are not under a load when in 2 wheel drive my Rubicon has the FAD and the gears in the front would just be spinning with the tires unless it was in 4 wheel drive Am I missing something?

Correct unless you have the fulltime 4wd.
Front gears only get very light use even when used. So a break in will happen over a much longer period vs the rears.

If you have the gears REM isotropic finished you really don’t need to do a traditional break in, just change the oil at 500 miles.

Thank you ?
Will at East Coast Gear Supply sent them to Gear FX, they sent them to me. ~ $250 well spent, even if it was only to eliminate the break in heat cycles, which it isn’t. I 2’nd Chocolate Thunder’s advice. ? Edit- if you haven’t ordered gears yet I recommend Will, another member recommended him to me and I 2’nd him also 919-672-2705 ext 1011
