Rattle on cold start

Has anyone else had issues with timing chain or valve train noise on cold starts with different oils? I finally got mine to stop by adding an oil additive, but the noise was making me cringe every morning. Mobil 1, Valvoline advanced, store brands, didn't seem to help. Added some BG MOA and the noise is gone.

My point was more specific to whether certain oils or additives have been helpful in maintaining a tight, quiet engine.
