Another random: was in Los Angeles on business last week - never seen so many Wranglers for rent - Sports, Rubicons, 4Xe, etc.

There had to be two dozen JLs just on the rental lot I was.

The Jeep became synonymous with the US military in WWII. In every theater of war and anywhere theGI’swent the Jeep was there serving as a faithful mule. Nothing fancy, nothing glamorous, just a solid little “truck, 1/4 ton, general purpose. If you ever had the honor to speak with anyone who was there you’d hear the same stories about their e periences with the Jeep. Dad was Air Corps in China, one Uncle was a beachmaster in the Pacific and made 5 amphibious landings, another Uncle landed at Normandy on D+1 and fought all the way across France and into Germany. They all had good things to say about the old Jeep.

Those little guys had NO fancy features at all, just a good winch (on a few) and skinny lug tires, and serious gears yet they went, literally, everywhere.
