So I ordered some Infinity 3032cfx 3.5" for the top dash panel along with the Metra 72-7902 adapters.

I've read on here that you may have to swap the wires to the pos/neg speaker terminals to correct the polarity as the Metra cables do not come correctly made (polarity-wise) for the dash speakers. Can someone please confirm if the adapters are correct as made or the wires should be swapped.

Thanks,

Lou

I'm in the same boat, except now I'm out of town and my new speakers have arrived!

Use the battery test. Connect a battery to the terminals. The positive terminal will cause the speaker cone to move out when touched to the positive side.

So they are definitely wired backwards. And you can't simply connect the blade connectors to the opposite terminals on the speaker as they are different size terminals.

I removed and swapped the wires from the Metra plug end using a small jewelers screwdriver. There was another thread on this somewhere.

The OEM dash speakers look like they came from a 70s transistor radio. Infinity def sounds clearer and have a fuller range. They do not drop right in however. I had to bend one end of the mounting holes tabs up to get them to fit in properly.
