Questions re: Alpine X409 install

Hi All,
Just installed the Alpine x409 on my Jeep, so far I'm happy with the sound improvements and larger display, but I do have some questions to make sure I did the install correctly.

1) in the attached image, does the "Rear Speaker" on/off, as well as the "subwoofer" on/off toggle supposed to affect the factory Speaker & Subwoofer of the alpine upgraded system? or is this only for if I add additional?

2) As I have the factory Alpine upgraded system, I have not upgraded my soundbar speakers to the SPV-65 ones as it says they will not work. I'm wondering if anyone has done it, specifically with the X409 unit (on the alpine upgraded system), and curious to your results?

So I am about to order a new JL and I was planning to upgrade to the 409 with the factory Alpine. Is the sound better with the 409 than the stock HU?
