I currently have a '21 wrangler rubicon 2.0 turbo with stock 33" tires, that just fit's between the wheel wells in an enclosed trailer behind my motorhome. I want to purchase a 392, preferably a 2024, however they all come with the recon package and the stock 35" tires/wheels are about 6.5" wider than my 33" tires/wheels and won't fit inside the trailer. If I put 33" tires/wheels on a 2024 392 would it be the same width as my current '21 rubicon with 33's, or are the axles wider (and/or spacers) as well? If I purchased a '23 392 with stock 33" tires/wheels, I assume that would be the same width as my '21? Thank you!

35s will be wider than 33s, but not enough to account for 6.5". The higher end models such as Rubicons do have wider axles too from what I recall. Just slapping 33's on there isn't going to recover 6.5" of width.

Thank you for your replay!

Any idea how much it will recover? If I purchased a 392 with 33's, would the width be the same as my '21 Rubicon?

No idea, but comparing 285/70/17 vs 315/70/17 (pretty sure that's the sizes for 33 vs 35s on Wranglers) shows the 33 to be approximately 11.2" wide, and the 35 to be 12.5" wide. Since half the width would be towards the inside of the tire, that should be a total of 1.3" wider overall just due to the tires.

You can hit up https://tiresize.com/comparison/ and plug in your exact tire sizes if different than what I used.

Ok that helps a lot, thank you

There must be other hard components that account for the added width

Axle width should be the same.

In addition to the 315 vs 285, the XR Wheels are +12 instead of +44. That accounts for 64mm (2.5") of track width.

The XR spats will add to the body width at the fenders.

Thank you for your reply

So, if axle being the same, if I swapped 33's for the 35's on a '24 392, do you think it would be the same width as a 392 with OEM 33's?

As long as you remove the spats and use the stock Non-XR wheels, I believe so.

Could always get narrow steel wheels and skinny tires for trailering and swap to the bigger stuff when you unload.

yes, I plan to use rubicon 33's/wheels, which fit inside my trailer, and keep the 35s/XR wheels as needed.

I just wasn't sure if the added width of the extreme recon package 35s was just from the tires/wheels.
