However, there is a process to make biofuels from algae. I'm surprised there is not more talk about this.
It's never been economical. Admittedly I'm not up on recent research, but they've been working on algae bio diesel for some time, but extraction was as concern. Last I knew the focus was on trying to find a way to extract without having to kill the algae.

There's also research on bio gasoline and diesel generated from modified e coli, but again, these never seen to result in a commercial product.

I saw a startup that had it all figured out and the cost was similar to gasoline at the time, no doubt they could do it even better now. I think someone bought up the patents or bought them out...

Back in the 60's/70's, propane conversions were manly used by propane company delivery trucks. The valves had to be changed in the cylinder heads, among other things. But at todays prices, would it really be cheaper? Then if some day, you got ready to sell it, who would ever buy it?
