Us tuners from back in the day miss the smooth power delivery of a properly-tuned pump shot. Today's digital on/off port injection is... horrible. If I thought it was technically possible to install a 450 CFM vacuum secondary Holley on my 3.6, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

LOL... I've got timing lights older than you...
Vacuum secondary— Blasphemy!!……. but I don’t miss the box full of accelerator pumps my DP ate……… timing light, he!! , the 3A is 41 years older. ? (Even beats me, Barely)

Pressing the throttle does nothing for startup. The ECU takes control and your input from the throttle means nothing until the ECU receives the signal that the engine is running. Thus, the reason why the starter disengages as opposed to keep on trying to start it.

As for old stuff, I like extra carbs when working on my carbs.

Well since you have to push the brake in order to start the engine it would be a little weird to also be pushing the gas.

Timing light?!! Nahhh, that's for the amateurs! a vacuum gauge and your ear turned to the carb top with one hand on the distributor will get it dead nuts accurate. Ok, maybe a quick run around the block to make sure it's not knocking on acceleration!

⚠ Caution— Too many of those “carbs” were the Pump Shot that snowballed into a 700HP CJ5 ❗

Funny thing is this. That is a Zenith 40 TIN carb for a Porsche 911. I had to wait 6 months and pay $600 for a set of reproduction floats. Plus, they came from Italy. Adjusting them is super happy fun time.

I’m proud of myself— guessed they were Porsche. The only Porsche I’m even marginally familiar with was a 911S wrecked and made into a dune buggy— Hang On- Your In For A Ride!

Three squirts into the ole' double pumper and fire away! (Pull the choke if it's not an auto one.) If that doesn't start it, open the hood, pull the air cleaner apart and stick a pencil in the choke plate to hold it open and turn the key. Miss those days!

No need on any vehicle made from 1986 and on. (Thank God!!)
You forgot the can of starting fluid! That stuff was fun.

I still have a can or two. Not sure what to do with them! I think they are in the laundry cabinet indoors for stability.

It does nothing if they key isn't on. Essentially, the gas pedal is nothing more than a rheostat that sends a signal to the throttle body.
Not even that connected.

The pedal goes to the computer. The computer drives the throttle body. How much and when is only vaguely related to pedal position. Especially when cold.

Under normal circumstances you don’t need to press the gas pedal when starting a fuel injected engine. Now if you are having starting problems and wind up flooding the engine you can press the gas pedal to the floor on startup to help clear the flooding

You might want to read the label... I don't think it will stabilize cabinets whether they are indoors or out.
