Prep to avoid rock rail rust

I have a set of LOD Destroyer rock rails on the way, and while I haven't read too many reports of rust on these I still want to protect my investment as much as possible. Is there any recommended prep work to rock rails before installation to avoid rust issues down the road?

I recently installed a set of Magnum RT Drop Steps by Raptor Series.

I've already got some minor rust starting to form in some areas.

I'm returning them for a replacement set, they're still under warranty.

I plan on having a Line-X coating applied to the replacement set, before I install them.

Try looking up Por15 for an option. I did my Roam rails and i have only seen 1 small spot of rust. Hit it with another quick shot of Por and i have not seen any rust since. I have no idea on longevity of the stuff.
