Power box on 4xe

When that video dropped there were definitely already some in production. Someone somewhere knew that some trims weren't going to get the power box.

They over promised up front. Nobody had to say all trims if they were unsure it was going to be on all trims. Also, like I said, if they were just up front about it months ago I'd have probably ordered the Rubicon instead of the Willys. Their loss I guess.

I ordered Willys end of April and at that time it said the power box will be available on all trim. Even the bag I got on my Willys has the room for the power box. If anyone could test the power box with the Willys could be good

You are right. I went to the dealership and tested it. It is not working at Willys. Too bad.

That is three times a box has been tested on the 2024 Willys 4xe and it has not worked. Not good!

Is there anybody else out there that have tested a powerbox on a Willys?

Hi Mike, thank you for reaching out.

Sadly, the Power Box is currently not available on the Willys trim level. The power box is not currently offered as a Mopar accessory either, since use requires the vehicle to be equipped with a bi-directional charging module. This module is not included on vehicles that do not come with the power box as factory installed equipment. We greatly apologize for any frustration that may cause you.

I was just reading the July order sheet and noticed that the Sahara 4xe has an option listed as "vehicle to load and power box delete" (it has just been showing up as "power box delete" on the Sahara window stickers).

I read "vehicle to load" as the bi-directional charging module, so it looks like to delete one is to delete both. This tracks with what you just posted.

Some kind of public announcement from Jeep would really be nice instead of this shady business with quietly changing their documentation.

This is one of those threads I wish I didn't click on... because now I am super bummed I didn't get one with my 2024 Sport S 4xE, and at the same time, hearing that it won't work for a Sport S or Willys 4xE trim makes it more maddening when it is apparently part of the pricing.

I asked Jeep Cares if the module can be acquired for us that have the powerbox but can’t use it. I’ll post the answer when/if I get a response.

Other than that, I guess I’ll hang onto the box and see if Jeep comes up with some good news that isn’t too expensive. If not, I’ll try to sell it to a Rubicon owner.

I really wish someone with more time than me would file complaints and/or lawsuits about this, to see if they go anywhere. Jeep really screwed us all.

At the end of the day, this really sucks for me. I already had a 12-hourpower outage, with my Sport S 4xe sitting in the driveway, unable to help. I would have waited to order it or I would have ordered a different trim if I’d known better. But I mistakenly relied on EVERY BIT OF DOCUMENTATION JEEP PUT OUT THERE indicating that the Sport S would have the powerbox. And trading what I just got for something else with a powerbox makes zero financial sense. I’d take a huge hit on taxes and so forth above and beyond the difference in price between trims.

I just got the 2024 Rubicon X 4xe where the Power Box is listed as standard equipment. The dealership says that it wasn’t delivered with the vehicle. They said they tried to order the part, but that’s not an option and that they contacted the factory and they don’t have them. So basically I was told I have to wait until one of those options is available.

If your window sticker doesn't have "power box delete" I would check with your dealer to see if they'll let you test it with the power box from a 4xe they have on lot just to make sure you got the bi-directional IDCM.

That’s a good idea, but my dealer doesn’t have any other 2024’s yet. I’m assuming that if for some reason I don’t have the bi-directional ICM that it just wouldn’t work for me. I haven’t heard of any Rubicon X’s that it didn’t cine with yet though. Some people have said they had a problem getting them vut that was with lower trims.

Of note, I downloaded a copy of their press release on 7/30, when I first started hearing rumblings about window stickers not showing the power box, to cover my hind parts because it said the power box is available on all Wrangler 4xe models. I just downloaded the same press release today and it says it's available on "select Wrangler 4xe models."

Edit to add: August 6th is the day it stopped being listed in the "standard features" section of the build tool on Jeep's website for the Willys 4xe. It was there on the 5th.

Can you please post or send that initial press release?
