On a cold start, my engine sounds like a sewing machine. Does yours sound the same? The knocking sound seems to go away after warming up. Is this something to worry about? I've noticed this since day one. 900 miles on it now.

This is the 3.6L with eTorque.

. . . realizing each day–
We have a long drive home and I don’t want to chip the hinges with rocks before I get a chance to put clear vinyl to protect them.
Beautiful–

Is there a specific type of vinyl you're using to cover the hinges? Just curious because it sounds like a great idea.
Thx!

I am SUPER happy to say I picked up my JLUR XR this morning. I must say I have been worried about the stance and if I was going to lift it and add 37's, etc. Well after seeing the XR in person I am happy to say the Jeep sits absolutely perfect for me and I do not want to alter the stance or tire size any larger for what I am planning on doing with it.

The one thing I still think I am going to do is swap the BFG All Terrains for the BFG Mud Terrains but going to keep the same size as they fit so nice on the XR.

I spent the day doing a few of the small mods I have been collecting the past few months while waiting for the XR to arrive. I got my shorty antenna installed, the door sill protectors, holster, 8.4 screen protector, door catch covers, mopar tube brush guard and the rest of my personal stuff from my old Jeep. I still need to install the all weather mats and the redline hood struts and that is on my list tomorrow.

Here are a few pics...

Had a little excitement today: the dealer's new sales manager let me know that my JLUR XR had been shipped. First, I started counting train days to San Antonio and truck days to the hill country. I am stoked, my XR may be here before Halloween! Then I realized my sales person, Julianne, whom has sold me my last five new and used vehicles, just told me two days before I was in F-paint. hmmm. My salesperson for years or the new sales manager? Who to believe? Phone tag and missed calls all morning. Finally, Julianne confirmed still in F-paint. I still see no build sheet or window sticker online. Hopefully, I am truly in F-paint about to enter G-trim. Still grateful, the excitement was exhilarating, for a few minutes—
