Clayton Off Road recommends 4.75 backspacing for at least one of their lifts. I've seen other lift manufacturers also recommend certain backspacing. Even AEV makes a disclaimer that their Dual Sport Suspension was only tested using AEV wheels and certain tires. Its not to say other stuff won't work well together, but with the amount of options out there, they can't test everything. I think its a good thing the lift manufacturer is providing recommendation rather than have the customer buy something that doesn't work.
