If you drive the speed limit in the fast lane......You are wrong.
If you getting passed by other vehicles driving in the slow lane.....You are wrong.

Also, hate it when idiots throw out their cigerette butts. Makes me want to go and buy a pack and a lighter then drive up to them, light my cigarette and say, "Here you dropped something." while I flip it into their ride. Irks me something bad...

What are yours?

slow lane you should be able to go as slow as you want (within reason, not 3 MPH) .

Fast lane you have to go as fast as the fastest car behind you could ever dream of going, even if its 130 MPH !!

The cigarettes I will never understand, that's the exact same thing as throwing your McDonalds trash out the window at a stop light. ..

In two sentences you summed up the abysmal failure of our drivers education system. It's not the "fast" land and the "slow" lane. It's the passing lane and the traveling lane. Move left, pass, move back right.

Except in Indiana, where, in my experience, the goal is to drive the same speed as the person in the lane next to you for as long as possible.

So, the one on the left side (in America) is where you drive faster than those in the lane to the right?

I’m from Indiana and your comment does not offend me. Lol.

So mine, is folks that get upset about EVERYTHING and have to make sure every person they know hears about it.

Hey, now. I only do that if you're tailgating me for no reason. But as long as we're complaining about how folks drive on the interstate, I'll elaborate further on my annoyance of tailgaters.

I'm at that point in life where I tend to stick to the speed limit (except on I465 circling Indianapolis, speed limit 55, if you are any slower than 65 you'll get run over, even by the police). I stay in the right lane except to pass, and I time my passes to minimize chances of causing anyone in the left lane to slow down for me. But why in the name of all that is holy, do people decide to tailgate me, while I'm in the right lane, and there are two open lanes to the left? Go around you jack@$$! I've even slowed down in this scenario to encourage them to go around (again, with two other lanes they can drive in), but it's scary how many times those people just keep getting closer and closer instead.

Or when I'm on a state highway (one lane each direction) and there's a line of cars and semis and tractors in front of me...what point are you trying to make by following me dangerously close? I mean, I get it: you're the most important person on the road, and you have someplace important to be, and I'm the car in front of you only going the maximum speed allowed by law. I mean, never mind the trucks in front of me, keeping me from going any faster even if I wanted to. It's all my fault that you are going to be late.

Now, as much as I hate tailgaters, if you've been riding my @$$ as described in the second scenario, and then decide you're going to pass, I might just, without realizing it of course, creep up close to that truck in front of me. I mean, you obviously think I'm oblivious and don't know what I'm doing anyway...I didn't even know you were trying to pass, especially considering we're in a no passing zone. So, I mean, I'm not intentionally driving too close for you to squeeze in front of me. I guess you either have to tuck back in behind me or pass everyone in the line...good luck!

I literally closed this tab, then reopened it. I take driving seriously, or so my wife says.

  1. When a lane is ending and there are signs, it's been this way for years, we all know it ends. People zipper in, people are letting then zipper in, everything is hunky dory... until that one jackass decides they're- I dunno what they think they are. More important? Just ignorant? But they jet up to the end of the lane and then expect to be let in.
  2. The people that let previous jackass in. Don't. Don't let them. Fuck them. They can either sit there and learn humility or they can sit there and learn how the zipper.
  3. People who stay in blinds spots. These dumbasses are a huge reason for accidents.
  4. Karens who camp in the far left lane. There was literally a study done on traffic accidents that found the number one cause of accidents is not speed. It's lane changes.

My pet peeve is having to go places that require you to take a four-lane highway. I much prefer the two-lane rural route where there is no "fast" lane.

I will echo the other post, it's not a fast lane, it's not a camping lane, it's a passing lane. Make your pass and move over *ssh*le. No "camping out" in the "fast" lane.
