So I got brand new tires and wheels last week and got them mounted balanced and installed by a local shop. Did a chalk test and some trial and error on driving feels to determine 32 psi cold best suited my preferences.
After doing a 100 mile trip yesterday, I now have a very weird sound coming from only the passenger side front tire, where when I go over speed bumps, or exit driveways, there is a hollow sound similar to in my mind resembling rubber bouncing on metal. This sound was not present previously when the tires were aired up to 38 psi cold by the shop.
I jacked that corner up and Tried manually pushing or pulling on the tire when its was parked to see if there was any issues with mounting or seating of the tire on the hub. Found that everything felt pretty tight. All lug nuts have been torqued down.
Most importantly, I stood outside while a buddy drove the Jeep out of my driveway. I did not hear anything, while inside the cabin, the hollow thud sound can be heard.
The sound is only from the passenger front side. Any ideas on what the issue could be?
Should I treat as just a weird anomaly and ignore it until it gets worse or more frequently? Its happening very specifically at bigger bumps (speed bumps, driveway aprons), and only when going a little fast on them (7-8 mph).
Could it be more shock related than tire related?
Wheel setup is Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT in 35" x 12.5 r 17.
Mounted on black rhino tusk wheels.
