I don’t see any place that it looks like it connect, unless it wraps around that tab

I'm just brainstorming here.

I wonder if that cable wraps under the lower tab and back up to connect with the upper tab. One cable pulls it one way, the other cable pulls it back tbe opposite direction.

Its tight under there, heres a photo from my manual driver seat but Im not sure this is the same location.

Here’s a picture from mine showing what it’s connected to. I’d suggest taking the seat out to work on it if you can get to the 4 mounting bolts.

Well, I just got back from the dealership! Not good news! Told them I couldn’t leave it with them because we need both vehicles. Jeep is wife’s daily driver, he came back with an estimate bout a thousand dollars seat rail and two cables + labor! I guess they saw me coming My CJ passenger seat has a much simpler system been working since 1980

Yeah it’s the most disappointing thing about the two doors. Mine has failed three times in three different ways. I have no idea why they had to get rid of the old tumble style seat base. It worked perfectly. Maybe you can catch that lever with a cord or something and get the seat locked back into position if it’s not already and just never touch it again.

Well last update on this seat issues. Let me start by saying I got a two year warranty on the repair! They changed the seat rails and cables! The bill was right at $1000 but it works now
