It can also be caused if there is cross contamination in the paint/body shops. By that I mean if you’re dealing with aluminum panels you cannot have any thing touch carbon steel and be used on the aluminum before the primer coat is applied (I believe it’s applied using a process called e-coat or something, not jeep specific, industry practice) because if you get 1 spec of carbon steel dust it will impregnate into the aluminum and then slowly cause the galvanic corrosion.

You need a different dealer because that's an outright lie. Jeep will definitely cover that under your 5 year corrosion protection warranty.

Can't tell you..shhh
I just went to the dealer yesterday to get pictures taken of my '18 JLUS to send to FCA. One dealer blew me off immediately and said since my 3/36 warranty was up it wouldn't be covered and the corrosion warranty wouldn't do anything either but another dealer I asked about it said to bring it in and they would file a claim. Don't know if it will be approved or not, and they said that by me being the second owner of the Jeep might have an influence, but they also said if it is rejected they would file a question as to why and anything else after that was up to me. They put me in for all 4 doors, the hood and all of the hinges.

A friend of mine has his 2020 Gladiator in the paint shop right now getting his rot fixed. I agree that you probably need to go see another dealer.

Well it has been confirmed. Dealer& Service Mgr. saw my one (pic) and felt 2 others..... No issues.. Setting it up for (4) doors and surround panels to be painted.. He was well aware and said they have seen too many. Difference between door material and the hinge. (1 week out of service and a loaner).

I was impressed with the dealer I went to the second time. Not only did they look over the spots I found and marked but the service manager went over the whole Jeep himself and logged a couple more spots that I didn't notice.

Dealers lie. I've had the same bubbling paint approved by Jeep and fixed on their dime two times my 2019 in three different places and fixing to be a third.
Im having a hard time finding a dealership with a bodyshop that will look at mine!

Where did you go? I am willing to drive across the country to find someone. Not having a lot of luck in Denver area. My particulr jeep dealer has no bodyshop and sent me to another dealer near denver and they were complete a**holes to me. :-(

I feel like the dealerships attitude towards warranty work has gone down hill extremely since 2021. I've called them and even went to see them in person in 2022 to repair new bubbling paint areas. The dealership manager himself looked at it, took pictures and wrote down notes. Said he would be contacting me soon to give me an update on when they can get around to fixing it. Over a year later, no responses. Called to speak with him and they send all his calls to his voice mail and not one time did he call me back. Sent emails and never received any response.

This is the complete 180 from my earlier paint issues in 2021.

Stellantis is not reimbursing dealers enough to make it worth their effort to deal with the matter. Pretty unethical…it’s not that Stellantis is denying a claim, they are just making it nearly impossible to find a dealer willing to submit a claim. I hope the ever allusive class action lawsuit will make it possible to get fixes outside the dealer network.
