Next week my son and i are driving from Virginia to Niagara Falls for a couple days. Plan is, one day there, and then take 2 days coming home thru Pa. Id like to run some back roads, and maybe find some fire trails to run coming home. Ive looked on a couple of the apps and found a few trails. But was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. When we come home, will be coming down thru the middle portion of the state....

This isn't what you asked, but it may be extremely important to your happiness and well being. If you're traveling through the middle of the state and up and down 15, there is a place in Shamokin Dam called Skeeters BBQ (106 VICTOR LN, SHAMOKIN DAM, PA 17876 and skeetersbbq.com) that should be a mandatory stop. Great beer, great brisket, pulled pork, and smoked chicken and perhaps the best chicken corn chowder in the world. Coming from VA to Niagara falls, it will likely fall about halfway there.

To actually answer your question, if you're looking for some fun dirt roads, get off further North and head towards Wellsboro, Gaines/Galeton. That's where they run the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally (https://www.stpr.org). It used to be in late June, but looks like it will be July 11-12 this year. Draws the top end drivers (where I met Ken Block and Travis Pastrana one year.) If you go to the spectators section on the web site, you can see their stage maps and go drive the same roads they'll race.

You can then take back roads from there down south through Moshannon and into Bald Eagle state parks, with some pretty good trails scattered around. If you have On X, I can make you a track and/or highlight some of my favorite spots around the area.

Tioga state forest has miles and miles of gravel roads, 20-25mph type. It is usually empty and forget cell coverage. Beautiful country, not challenging in any way for a Wrangler.
