Hopefully this helps others if this code shows up.

Back in March of 2023 my check engine light came on 29,000 miles. Took our 2021 3.0 to the deakership and code P026C fuel injection quantity low.

The dealership decided to keep the jeep for further diagnosis and gave us a loaner. After a few days they thought that maybe it was related to the fuel pump recall.

Reset codes and after driving approximately 25 miles check engine light again. Another visit and same code.

Fast forward to December 2023 and fuel pump recall completed. Drving home check engine light again, same code.

Dropped Jeep off on January 2024 for two weeks. Mechanic found Gasket for EGR Actuator leaking. Guess what gasket does not come seperate and had to order new EGR Actuator.

Just went today before Dealership closed to pick up jeep. Mechanic showed me the old Actuator and half of it was clogged. It appears that the side that gets cooled was ok but the other side was not allowing much ( if anything) to pass.

They stated that this is going to be an issue with these engines, Just for info Actuator was just shy o $700.00 for part. Yes it was covered under warranty.

I took a photo of the clogged Actuator but don't know how to post it. EGR part number 68509351AA

Loaner on this last trip was a 3.6 Rubicon many thanks. However Love my 3.0 Rubicon 100 times more.

All three systems, SCR, EGR, and DPF are prone to mechanical blockage and electrical gremlins both before and after the federal emissions warranty is up. Unfortunately, the only long-term reliable diesel is the one that was built before these trash heaps were mandated and the modern ones that deleted them. Those making it 250k+ miles with all three systems intact are a minority.

If you haven't done so yet get rid of your auxiliary battery and completely eliminate it. Your dealership will never admit this is a problem because then they would be admitting to the faulty design of FCA engineers. Which by the way, all dealerships know this is a huge problem for all JL Wrangler and Gladiator owners. Who doesn't have a biased opinion are tow truck drivers when you get a chance just ask them how many of these problems they come across. If your problem continues at least then you have better ability to find the real cause. (if it's still exists after that elimination).

So I ended up getting a P026C as well. Freaked out and had the fuel pump replaced and the light would not go out. Talking to the tech at the dealership and he was positive that it was a low pressure side issue, not high pressure side. Sent a note to Green Diesel because I have their tune and the asked if I had changed anything on the intake and I had replaced the air filter element with a reputable brand that I will not disclose. So I replaced that filter element with an OEM one and the light went away. I am guessing that the other filter flowed more air past the MAF and triggered the light because there was more air for the amount of fuel. As far as the ESS, the first thing I installed in the Jeep when I got it was a Z-auto Tazer to “fix” the ESS.

Thanks Terpsmandan, I have replaced the air filter multiple times and not used OEM but will try that suggestion.
It is currently at the Dealership and will have them try that.

I also have the Tazer and have disconnected the aux: battery. Still going to disconnect battery completely.

Do you have auto start and did it affect that as well?

I have had the Tazer since week one so I could disable the ESS. No issues with the aux battery.
