P000A code

I have been getting a CEL with a P0000A code. But it comes and goes. Drives fine. Is this an issue to deal with now or is something failing. I am not a mechanic and do not pretend to be.

I have been getting a CEL with a P0000A code. But it comes and goes. Drives fine. Is this an issue to deal with now or is something failing. I am not a mechanic and do not pretend to be.

You have a potential issue:

• DTC P000A stands for “Intake “A” Camshaft Position Slow Response Bank 1.” It’s logged once the PCM detects that the camshaft’s position differs from the position that the module expects during camshaft phase changes.
• Some of the issues that could trigger the code include a malfunctioning camshaft position sensor, a bad oil control valve, and a faulty variable valve timing (VVT) actuator.
• The trouble code usually comes with various symptoms, such as a lit check engine light, increased emissions, poor engine performance, increased fuel consumption, and engine rattling noises.
