Outer Banks Trip October 15th

I lived 3 summers during college in Corolla doing ATV Tours to see the horses and had to drive trucks on that beach every day. Make sure you air down your tires before getting on the beach. Also during high tide you will have to drive in the softer sand that has really deep ruts. Do not ever stop when you are in that soft rutted out sand. I would see 3-4 jeeps/trucks/SUV’s get stuck each week and 99% of them happened because they stopped in high soft sand.

We went last year and there are some house rentals right off the beach but not on paved roads. We got turned around looking for an exit and ended up back there. It got extremely dicey, quick. Was fun but not somewhere I'd want to be stuck.

If I remember right the roads were on the GPS and labeled as roads, but completely unpaved and sandy/muddy.

We had Outer Banks Boil Company and it was incredible. Was expensive but delicious.

We literally just returned from Corolla. It was our first trip there and we had a wonderful time. Ate at Aqua and it did not disappoint. We'll gladly return and the off-season is perfect for us.

There was an open house at the Corolla Wild Horse Fund preservation area and my wife really wanted to see them so it just happened to be this Saturday. It's an amazing story both tragic and hopeful. We'll be back.

PS - Super Wings (we thought it was a wing place at first) has a bunch of Jeep shirts...you just have to look as the staff isn't that great.
